Tony Worick is a Partner of Capital Edge Consulting. He focuses on enabling businesses to do work with the United States Government. His focus has included working with the largest aerospace & defense contractors as well as enabling commercial companies to successfully establish public sector businesses to expand their products, services and customer base.
As the US Government increases its budget and streamlines its acquisition lifecycle, new opportunities exist for established contractors to win more in the market and nontraditional contractors to expand in the market. Tony enables business growth through his expertise with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and other agency supplements like the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).Â
Tony serves government contractors of all sizes and complexity through his experience establishing the first line of defense through internal control frameworks and business processes that enable the business to win and perform work with the US Government. Tony enables business continuity in the second line of defense through continuous monitoring of risks and controls within DFARS business system requirements and cost allocations in accordance with CAS. Lastly, Tony provides assurance to the clients he serves through the third line of defense by identifying risks of noncompliance and providing meaningful and actionable recommendations.
Tony’s clients provide products and services to the US Government in a wide range of industries, including aerospace, biotech and life sciences, defense and homeland security, energy, health care, information technology, intelligence and manufacturing. Tony’s experience across industries and with companies of all sizes and complexities, allows him to identify applicable, and not applicable, rules and regulations to tailor solutions that meet his clients' strategy, needs and goals.
He has enabled success through his experience and dedication to his clients’ missions. Through opportunities to integrate with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) teams performing Accounting, Pricing and Estimating, and Material Management audits he has learned DCAA’s audit methodology and approach from planning, through fieldwork and reporting. This experience has allowed Tony to assist clients through 100s of successful government business system audits.
Tony enables business growth through compliance, but also through large-scale transformations and deals due diligence. Whether you are trying to grow organically or through acquisition, Tony has helped his clients through these transformations. He has helped his clients with buy-side and sell-side due diligence when an acquisition includes government contracts. He has also supported with integration plans to make sure his clients have the appropriate operating model, indirect cost allocations and capabilities throughout the organization to make the transaction a success pre-close and post-close all the way through integration.
Education: Tony graduated from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting.
Certifications: Tony is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), registered in the states of Virginia, Nebraska and the District of Columbia.
