Required remediation of inadequate duty-free and sourcing controls that were increasing unallowable costs and compliance risk amid evolving tariffs on imported goods​

Solution

• Established a duty‑free sourcing control framework to define eligibility, documentation, and internal controls aligned to DFARS and Customs & Border Protection (CBP) requirements​
• Developed CBP Post Summary Corrections (PSC) memos for 3 duty-free DOW contracts incurring import duties
• Created CBP SOPs that outlined standardized templates, and customs broker reconciliation procedures​
• Performed detailed bill of material analyses to evaluate Berry Amendment for existing and future procurements to remediate uncertainty of sourcing applicability by buyers​
• Delivered targeted training to create consistent understanding of DFARS, Berry Amendment, and supply chain compliance across procurement, engineering, and program teams
