LANA RAY

As a Senior Manager with Capital Edge Consulting, Inc., Lana Ray specializes in U.S. Government contract and subcontract management in addition to purchasing system compliance. She has wide-ranging knowledge of government regulatory requirements and business system compliance from her work for a global Department of Defense (DoD) contractor. A former United States Air Force (USAF) Contracting Officer and Chief Contracting Inspector, Lana also has extensive experience in contract administration and inspection.

While working in industry as the Director of Government Compliance, she provided training, formulated policy, and performed internal reviews of Purchasing, Estimating and Accounting Systems as well as represented the publicly-traded corporation during Incurred Cost and Disclosure Statement Audits. During her tenure there her efforts led to her team being lauded by DCMA for the best CPSR results over a three-year period.  Prior to retiring from the military, Lana identified critical operational deficiencies of contracts totaling $67B in support of 300 work centers at 150 worldwide locations while serving as Chief Contracting Inspector for the Air Force Space Command Inspector General (IG).   Before working under the IG she was a warranted USAF Contracting Officer specializing in base operations, minor construction and major system acquisition.  She served at multiple overseas locations, contingency and U.S. assignments resulting in a mature understanding of cultures and the challenges encountered by both the U.S. Government and defense contractors in foreign environments.Senior

In addition to supporting the development of Capital Edge Consulting’s customized client training, Lana is has certifications with the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP/DAWIA) – Contracting Level III and Program Management Level I; COSO Internal Control Certificate through the Institute of Internal Control Auditors.  She is also a member of the Professional Services Council and the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA).
