Michelle’s expertise is in providing full contract lifecycle professional support to government contractors in the areas of regulatory compliance, government contract cost accounting, ERP systems, and training. Michelle’s skills also include comprehensive knowledge of the FAR, CAS, DFARS, DCAA compliance and audit support requirements, and Deltek Costpoint and JAMIS Prime implementation.
Since joining Capital Edge in 2010, Michelle has provided guidance to companies in a variety of areas including preparing ICSs, developing forward pricing rates, and creating and maintaining CAS disclosure statements. She also has deep expertise in developing CAS cost impact proposals, booked to billed reconciliations, contract closeouts, and contractor business system reviews, specifically related to accounting and estimating systems.
Most recently, Michelle led the implementation of JAMIS Prime for Capital Edge. She has become skilled at working in the various modules within JAMIS including, but not limited to, Timecards, Expense Reports, WBS setup, Project Billing, Project Revenue, Accounts Payable, Journal Entries, Cash Receipts, and Financial Reporting.
Michelle has also served as a project manager and subject matter expert in the design and implementation of Deltek Costpoint. Understanding client needs with respect to end-user functionality, reporting, and government contracting compliance requirements along with the capabilities of Costpoint & JAMIS, allows Michelle to assist in the design of a system that can accommodate today’s business environment while allowing for future growth. Specific areas of design in Costpoint and JAMIS include chart of accounts, organizations, project structure, indirect rate cost pools and bases, billing procedures, revenue recognition, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and security roles.
Prior to joining Capital Edge, Michelle was engaged in government contracting in environmental engineering, software development, and IT support industries. During this time, she was a functional user of Deltek Costpoint in the Projects, Accounting, and Purchasing modules. She has experience in a wide range of roles including cost accounting manager, financial (project-level) manager, and procurement specialist.
Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from the Leeds School of Business at University of Colorado Boulder.
