As a service leader with 10+ years of experience, Ben supports our Federal Grants, Accounting & Finance, and Strategic Advisory capabilities. Ben has deep expertise in 2 CFR 200 & Federal Agency Compliance, Audit Preparation & Resolution, Subaward Administration, and Pre- & Post-Award Indirect Rate Development.

Throughout Ben’s time supporting federal contractors and grant recipients, he has empowered clients of various sizes and industries to combat noncompliance through the development and implementation of internal controls that reflect both 2 CFR 200 compliant and industry-recognized best practices. Ben’s firsthand experience administering federal awards enables Ben to provide outsourced staff augmentation solutions in the areas of financial reporting, invoicing, procurement administration, and subrecipient risk assessment and monitoring, thus allowing our clients to better focus on their missions while not wavering from their compliance obligations. Furthermore, Ben’s experience in complex financial modeling combined with a tactical understanding of federal agency approved methods for indirect cost allocation affords our clients with the opportunity to maximize indirect cost recovery while prioritizing compliance under federal awards.

Ben’s efforts have directly contributed to achieving compliant, audit-ready business systems that support critical functions of federal award administration resulting in successful outcomes during Single Audits required under 2 CFR 200, Subpart F as well as compliance audits imposed by federal awarding agencies. Ben’s efforts in assisting clients with proposal and budget development have resulted in the submission of numerous successful federal award applications that provide appropriate consideration for the cost of compliance and program administration therefore winning awards that clients wish to keep.

Over the course of Ben’s career, he has also supported major government contractors, including multiple Fortune 200 companies with federal contract administration, estimating, and forensic accounting services. During these engagements, Ben assisted with the management of a $700MM+ forecasting and budgeting refresh for a major U.S. Army funded program. Under a separate task, Ben supported an analysis spanning over 7 years and $350MM+ worth of undefinitized change orders (UCOs), positioning the client favorably during a REA negotiation settlement with the DOW. Additionally, Ben supported the development and audit of 5 years of Indirect Cost Proposals for 6 firms, including a joint-venture and a consortium operating under the $12B United States Forces Korea (USFK) Yongsan Base Relocation Plan (YRP).

Outside of client engagements, Ben is a frequent lecturer for national training organizations such as Thompson Grants (a division of Columbia Books and Information Services), FPS and the Public Contracting Institute providing attendees with expertise and guidance on federal award compliance.

Ben earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Pennsylvania Western University.
